I’m delighted to share this recipe for gluten free YUM YUM cake with you (the name alone makes me happy!). The original recipe for this gorgeous cake came from a little recipe book that belonged to my grandma. It’s one of those books that happened, thanks to various people kindly contributing their favourite recipes. I love this idea! And there really are some smashing recipes in the book. I will of course be sharing more of them with you over time, but for today, I’m going with the one my grandma contributed…which is YUM YUM cake!

Here is another rather super recipe to share with you. This gluten free ginger spiced cake has a yummy, soft, golden buttery crumb, that is perfectly spiced with warming ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. And, when decorated with a generous drizzle of glace icing, and chopped crystallised stem ginger, it’s ramped up into a a fabulous teatime treat!
Yet another great gluten pastry recipe to share with you. And this time it’s a real corker! Gluten free steak and kidney pie.
I must tell you when I was first diagnosed with coeliac disease, I didn’t tend to make my own pastry very often (if at all!). But then after working at Juvela for a while, I discovered what culinary doors it would open, if I cracked on and mastered the art of making gluten free pastry.
One of the most requested recipes when I worked on the advice line at Juvela, was for gluten free dumplings. And then generally within the same enquiry, I would be asked about where to purchase gluten free suet?
Gluten free suet can be a bit tricky to get hold of. However, I have a great tip that I’m about to share with you. Which will mean, you no longer have to specifically source gluten free suet to make dumplings or suet puddings!
