If you’ve been fancying a great pie, look no further than Voakes Free From gluten free pies. They’re packed full of the most wonderful flavoured fillings, and encased in perfect crisp pastry, which leaves you wondering how can they possibly be gluten free?! Well they really are!
The Voakes Free From range has grown over the years. And now, as well as all the pies within their Free From range being gluten free, many of them are also suitable for additional dietary needs.
With Voakes you really are in safe hands when it comes to all things gluten free, as Laura Voakes is diagnosed with coeliac disease…and she has a real passion for pies! In fact Laura is the very reason that Voakes gluten free pies came to be.
I first discovered Voakes Free From pies at a gluten free food fair a few years ago and from the first bite loved them! And from then, at each gf food event I attended, I would pop across to their stall to pick up my ‘Voakes supply.’
To bring me up to date with the Voakes range, I had a lovely time checking out their classics and some tasty new additions too (kindly gifted to me by Voakes). There are also larger pies available, which are perfect for all the family to enjoy. Me and Neil are big eaters, so we polished off a delicious large chicken pie between us, with some homemade chips and steamed veg.
My personal Voakes favourites are; the cheese and onion pasty (just how a cheese and onion pasty should taste and perfect with Heinz baked beans), the caramelised onion and feta cheese quiche, and I just love the pork, chicken and stuffing pie too.
I set myself up with a little ploughman’s platter to enjoy some of the wonderful pork pie range which includes; classic pork, pork, chicken and stuffing (the one I mentioned) and pork and apple. If like me chilli is your ‘thing,’ I would also urge you to check out the pork and chilli pie. It’s not pictured here but it’s a beaut!
